ZEBRAS ZEBRAS ZEBRAS!!!
Name and Habitiat
Have you guys ever wondered where the name "zebras" came from? In the Old Portuguese language, the word, 'zevra, mean 'wild ass'.All wild zebras are found in Africa. Three species of zebras still occur in Africa, two of which are found in East Africa. The most numerous and widespread species is Burchell's, also know as the common or plain zebra. The other is the Grevy's zebra. The third zebra,Equus zebra, is the mountain zebra, found in southern and southeastern Africa.Burchell's zebras inhabit savannas, from treeless grasslands to open woodlands; they sometimes occur in tens of thousands of migratory herds on the Serengeti plains. Grevy's zebras are now mainly restricted to parts of northern Kanya.

Behavior
The Burchell's zebra’s social system is based on a harem of females led by a stallion. If a female zebra is single, it will vvits condition with a peculiar stance: straddled legs with raised tails and lowered heads. All the stallions in a group fight one another until the female zebra mates with one of them. When a baby zebra is born, the mother zebra keeps all other zebras away from it for 2 through 3 days, until the baby zebra recognizes its mother by sight, voice, and smell.

^ Above is a video from youtube about two zebras fighting. ( I personally think that they are playing not fighting)
Diet
Zebras are very adaptable grazers. Grazers are animals that can eat a various amount of plants. The plant that the zebras eat the most is grass. Although zebras are grazers, they are also very dependent on water. This is a challenge because it is hard to find water in the environment the zebras live in. Each species of zebras lives in its own type of environment including grasslands, plains, savannas, and mountain ranges.
Predators and Threats
Zebras are important prey to lions and hyenas. When a family of zebras is attacked, members of the family form a semi-circle facing the predator to watch it for any sudden signs a further attack. The Burchell's Zebra is most in danger of habitat loss and competition for livestock.

In this video, a group of zebras are running around in the Ngorongoro crater. The Ngorongoro crater is located in the Ngorongoro Highlands, a range of volcanic mountains that is one of the most beautiful safaris in East Africa.
