Wallaroo

The amazing Wallaroo is a mixture of a kangeroo and a wallabie. These creatures are rather stocky, the male wallabies can way up to 100 pounds. The females largest weight can be up to 50 pounds. They can be from 2.5 - 4ft long. They have shaggy fur usually grayish brown in color.Wallaroos are not hunting animals they eat shrubs and various types of plants. Out of the kangaroos the wallaroos are the most adapted to the dry enviroment. The feet of these animals are padded so when they go rock climbing. When it gets to hot these animals hide under boulders to keep them cool. If they need water they dig for it sometimes even up to 1 meter deep. Wallaroos live in rocky areas, they are found in the pastures of Australia. They use there tail as a "third leg", they use there tair as a rudder when jumping. Wallaroos are very nice creatures, they are often used as pets, they are like dogs, sweet, don't forget cuddly. All species of the wallaroo are protected by Australian law. They are complex animals, with many great features. They are great jumpers and can go pretty fast, even though they are very fat.

  • They may hiss or cough when threatened. .

  • Stomp to communicate with each other. .

  • Reach sexual maturaty at 20 months of age. .

  • Muscular Body. .

  • Great Swimmers.

  • These animals are near threatened, which means they may become threatened in the near future.

This is the most common asked question

Are Wallaroos the same as Kangaroos?

The answer is .......

NOOOOOOO

They are closely related, but they are very different...

they are both marsupials

Class: Mammilia

Order: Diprotodontia

Family:Macropodidae

Genus: Macropus

Species: Robustus

  • Wallaroos use foot thumbs to tell others there is danger near.

Wallaroos are very curious animals, but they are michevious. They can be used as house pets, they can be taught to understand the word no.They need firm corrections when bad things are done never do physical punishment. If you decide to get a Wallaroo as a pet you need to have a large backyard with a big pen for these animals that like to excersize.
