River Dolphins!

                                     Baiji River Dolphins!

The Baiji river dolphin is one type of river dolphin that has gone extinct. ( but there is still other types of river dolphins that have not gone extinct.) The Baiji river dolphin has been extinct since 2004! So for the past five years there has only been one of the Baiji river dolphin spotted. (but in September 1st, 2007 there was one single Baiji river dolphin spotted. I got this information from this website.) The Baiji was also only found in China, in the Yangze River. The Baiji river dolphin is a fresh water dolphin, and that is the only way they could servive in a river water.

The Baiji is about the same size as a average sized human. So they are about the same size as a normal dolphin. That is also a way they could servive in a river. The Baiji is not the same as a dolphin. A dolphin lives in big spaces of water, and is a salt water dolphin, and it lived in the ocean, but the river dolphin can live in a really small space of water. You can read about dolphins in these two wiki links, wiki. They both talk about regular types of dolphins.

Some of the ways the Baiji river dolphin had gone extinct are, fishing, pollution, boats, and lack of room in the river. Poor water, and bad weather could have been a cause of the extinction to. You can go to this web link and type in Baiji river dolphin to get more information.

The baiji river dolphin has a beak that is slightly pointing up, and they have a neck that could move almost all the way around. (like a owl) The baiji river dolphin is different than the rest if all river dolphins because it can see with a little color. The Baiji river dolphin has only a few colors though. They can see blue, gray, white, and black. A regular river dolphin can only see black and white.

The Baiji river dolphins live in a group of 3-4 different animals, and for together with 9-16 diffrent groups that have already formed into small groups. They travel like this so bigger things can't get them. Then they swim in sallow water to catch small fish to eat.

I got this pic from this web site.  >.<

Good work. I think you could have added some more information and organized your page better.
