                                               Reptiles

                                  By:Tyler

Reptiles were one of the first animals to roam land. Birds and mammals both evolved from these cold blooded marvels. To date, reptiles have remained among the most dominant family on earth. They range from the powerful Salt Water Crocodile to the crushing force of the Anocanda.

           Salt water Crocodile          (Crocudylus Porosus)

The salt water crocodile is the second largest reptile on earth, second only to the leather back turtle. They are exlusive to Australia and several nearby islands. They will eat anything from small crabs and fish to kangaroos and wombats, even the occasional person! They will basically eat anything they can catch. Their form of attack is ambush, where they stalk animals close to the shore, with their eyes sticking out of the water. Their skin color matches that of the murkey, green water for extra effect. The salt water croc will then bite and latch on to the prey, drowning them in the water, using a "death roll", spinning very fast and swallowing the victim. Because Saltys can't chew, they must spin in the water with the prey in their mouth until they tear off swallowable chunks of flesh.

                some facts:

.salteys range from 23 to 30 ft long when full grown

                .can swim in the ocean

. gets in frequent fights with great white sharks.

.can reach ages of 100 yrs

          Anocanda        (Eurectis Marines)

The anocanda is the largest snake in the world. Adults range from 25 to 30 feet long, and 800 pounds. Anocandas have no venom, but  rather they kill by constricting (squeezing) their prey to death. When an anocanda constricts, it is as crushingly powerful as a school school bus laying on your chest. Rather than suffocating or snapping a victims neck, the snake's constriction cuts off circulation, stopping the normal flow of blood. They can open their jaws  up to three times bigger than normal by dislocating their lower jaw. Anocandas are from South America,  and will eat anything from boars and capybara to fish and small birds.

              Fun facts:

            .Anocandas are pro swimmers

.Immune to all other snake venom

.Skin is 4 times thicker than a humans

            .can reach ages of 50yrs

Komodo Dragon          (Varanus Komodoensis)

The Komodo Dragon is the largest lizard in the world. Adults range from 6 to 12 ft long, and 300 to 400 pounds. They reign from the island of Komodo. Komodo dragons attack multiple ways, they can head butt, whip with the tail, or bite with a toxic saliva. Because the Komodo dragon is also a scavenger, they eat the toxic, infectious carcasses witch give their bite a bacterial venom which will cause the bite wound to turn septic within hours and slow painful death within several days of the bite.

              Fun facts:

             .Eat poisonous snakes

.Saliva is more lethal than 70% of all other venomous snakes venom

.Regenerate more limbs than any other reptile

            .reach ages of 40 yrs

Leatherback Turtle        (Dermochelys Coriacea)

Leather Back turtles are thought by many to be the largest reptile on the planet. They are remarkably different than other sea turtles. They are infamous for the fact that they eat jellyfish. Its okay though, because they are immune to jellyfish stings. Leather Backs can be found in all of the worlds oceans, but only lay eggs off the coasts of Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and Florida. The Leather Back's forms of defense from the likes of ocean predators are to headbutt, or bite, with their three beaked mouth, wich is ridiculously strong.

            Fun facts:

.only 8% of all layed eggs live to adulthood

.jaw force reaches up to 1800lb

.can reach the age of 80 yrs
