Amazing Octopi 

Information 

     The octopi is a sea animal. Octopi is plural for octopus. The octopus is in the kingdom of animalia, phylum of molussca, class of cephalopoda, and the order of octopoda.

Biology

     The octopus has 8 legs with suction cups on its arms. An octopus has a beak,which is the only hard part of the octopus.An octopus can live up to 5 years under certain cicumstances.Also an octopus has 3 hearts but two of them pump blood to the two gills but the third one pumps blood through the whole body. All octopus are venomous, but the blue-ringed octopus is deadly to humans.The octopus' blood has copper-rich protein for transporting oxygen.

Intelligence

     Octopus are highly intelligent. An octopus has a highly detailed nervous system. Octopus know different shapes and patterns. Some octopus are so smart, they can climb out of their aquarium and search for food.

Defense

     An octopus' main defense is to hide from its enemy. Secondary defenses include squirting ink at its enemy and using camouflage. Octopus can use camouflage because of thier special skin cells they have. Also, the changing of thier skin can warn other octopus. The octopus sqiurts ink at its predators to escape from it. 

Locomotion

     The octopus travels by using its long arms to crawl and the octopus sometimes swim. The octopus is vunerable to predators so the octopus has to keep moving.
