Mountain Lion Habitat areas

This powerful predator roams America, where it is also known as a puma or a cougar. These big cats are also found in many habitats, from Florida swamps to forests in Canada.
Mountain lions like to eat deer, though they eat smaller animals too like coyotes, porcupines, and raccoons. Mountain lions hunt at night, dawn, and dusk. They stalk their prey until they find an opportunity to pounce. They will hide large food and eat them for several days.
Mountain lions once roamed all of the United States. By the beginning of the 20th century, almost all mountain lions were gone in the Midwest and Eastern U.S. even though the endangered Florida panther survives.
Some biologists believe that these big cats could eventually get back a lot of their Midwest and Eastern home-if humans let them.
Mountain lions require a lot of room; only a few cats can survive in a 30-square-mile range. They're shy animals, rarely seen by humans. They do sometimes attack people; usually children or adults walking alone. Statistics show that there are only four attacks and one human death each year in all of North America. People think mountain lions attack humans because they either got too close to their cubs or they are in it's territory. Here are some more great pages on big cats:Cheetah, Puma, Jaguars, Ligers, Lions, and Tigers.

Good page. Your national geographic link is broken, and needs to be repaired. Your last sentence of the first paragraph: maybe you should say it to refer to food, rather than they.

:P Mountain lions only attack people if they threaten their territory, cubs, or theirselves.

If you see a mountain lion, make yourself look as big as possible. The lion will think that if you look big,you might be more dangerous. Then it will leave you alone.
