Here are Llamas Mating

Llamas are in the camelid family. So one of their cousins are a camel. The camelid family originated from the central plains of North America 40 million years ago. From 4,000-5,000 they were domesticated in the Andean Highlands in Peru. They are used breeding stock, packing, fiber, therapy, pets, and gaurd animals.

The fiber is light-weight and grease free so it is good for clothing. You train llamas to do various stuff like going in or out of vans, pulling crates, or being led. They can carry 25-30% of their weight so they are good pack animals. Their two-toed feet along with the leathery pads under it gives them good balance in their environmet.

Llamas are highly social animals. They need the companionship of their fellow llamas. They are indepent yet shy, gentle but curios, and fun to have. Their calm nature and good common sense makes them easy to handle, even for little children. . They spit when they want to say "Bug Off".

Since llamas are really smart, they know certain people are special. They do not react negatively to people that are handicapped. Llamas bring great joy to people they visit. They can go into facilities housing patients and next to patients' bedsides. They interact with patients and hardly ever make a bathroom accident.

Here are some Trained Llamas

Llamas grow mature when they are fours old. Their average weight is from 250-500 pounds. Llamas lives about 15-20 years old.

Llamas communicate with humming and ear and tail movements. Llamas have good sight and a great sense of hearing. Their ears are long and hooked. The ears can move indepedently to sounds from all directions.

Llamas babies are called cria. When borned, they are 25-30 pounds already. Crias are normally up and ready to be nursed in 90 minutes.

Llama's  ancestors are adapted to the harsh environment of the Andes. So llamas are suited for every environment. They are healthy most of the time and diesease-free. Llamas are easy to care for and is economical to keep.
