Fish are ancient water-dwelling creatures found all around the world. Fish are the world's oldest vertebrates. All fish breathe through gills, using the gills the oxygen from the water enters the fish's body. The first fish arrived around 5 million years ago, there is now over 24,000 species of fish populating the earth. Most fish have bony skeletons, but sharks and rays have skeletons made of cartilage. Fish eat other fish, bread, bits of food, and small prey. Also, some mother fish eat their babies, right after they are born.aThis is going to be a link to a wiki page. http://animals.nationalgeographic.com/animals/fish.html......national geogriphic Febuary 19, 2009
