Panda Bears
Pandas has been considered a bear since 1995 and they are white and black. They like to eat bamboo and it is 99% of its diet. Pandas have a large head and have white and black fur. They can only be found in 6 regions and aren't that big in southwest China. The places are along the Tibetan plateau in Sichuan, Gansu. and Shaaanzi provinces. These bears are very solitary and female bears scratch a trees and putting some musky things from their paw to mark it their territory. Scientists are not sure how long pandas can live in the wild but they do know that they live shorter in captivity. Pandas in zoos have been recorded to live as long as 35 years in a zoo.
Black Bears
Black bears are very prolific and succesful but they vary out in North America. They're are about 750,000 left in North America. Black bears can appear in a variety of colors like brown and black, white and black, or even a blue glacier bear. These bears usually weigh around 300 pounds and the heaviest black bear that has ever been shot was in 1885 Wisconsin and it was 805 pounds! The bears now are becoming lighter. Black bears can usually eat anything and they love eating honey, and because of that, they are responsible for thousands of dollars of damage to things like cars and houses. Black Bears feed primarily on plants, but in some areas, they prey on mammals such as deer, fawns, mooses, calves. In other areas they rely on salmon. Black bears are very intelligent. They know to avoid grizzlies. Black bears have a curved claw and are shorter than grizzly bears. They are much faster and swifter when they climb trees because they have a better grip. Cubs usually hide in trees and climb with their claws if there is danger.

Brown Bears
Brown Bears are what modern day children see in their teddy bears. The brown bears have a large bump of muscles above their shoulders which gives them a lot of power to dig. These bears heads are very large and round. When bears stand up they're 5f to 10f tall and bears can run at a speed of 34mph. Brown bear cubs usually go with their mother to get salmon at the river and when they come out the mother has a salmon in its mouth but when cubs come out they usually get mixed up and dont know who their mother is. The cubs false mother still feeds them and they wait for their own mother to claim them. The largest population of brown bears is in Russia. In Russia there are 120,000 brown bears.
Grizzly Bears
Today Grizzly bears live in Alaska and Canada. Other than that, there are less than a thousand grizzly bears living in other areas. Grizzly bears characteristics with fur are usually based on their habitat. The Grizzlys in the north weigh a lot more than in the south. In the north they can weigh about 1,500 pounds and in the south around 176-440 pounds. The habitat of theirs can change their body and weight alot. Usually the male grizzlys are 1.8 times heavier than the females. They can run about 37 mph and their arms and shoulders are very strong so it allows them to dig. Grizzly bears can climb trees and they get honey. Bears can not only run but swim too. Bears use their claws to fight and they use them to mark their territory on trees as well with food to make the scent. Grizzlys life time can last around 30 years as an average.
Polar Bears
Their ancestors were brown bears. They moved to more harsh environments and they had changed severly. They are great swimmers and they have long, powerful, sloping shoulders. They have oily fur that sheds off water and it keeps them really warm. They also produce fat to keep them warm. Their fur is usually in the beginning of winter about 3.9 cm long and it can even help them float a little bit. Polar Bears usually weigh more than 1,500 pounds and are very agile in a way. They are also the worlds biggest bear. They wait hours and hours to hunt their prey and fuel up themselves. They are highly curious and are very intelligent. They might over time find new sources of food. Female Polar bears new born babys are usually twins and mothers usually leave their cubs when they are half a year old. They usuallyhave another twin every two years. However, polar bears may become extinct due to global warming because the ice thay live on is melting.
